Christmas Crafting with GS

Today was awesome! I spent my day “Christmas Crafting” with my fellow Girl Scouts and my cousin Indya. As we entered the room could see tables filled with different crafts. I made a beautiful candy-filled Christmas ornament at the first table. Then, I went to a table with hot chocolate  and marshmallows on it. At this table, I filled my ornament with hot chocolateand marshmallows.

I could not wait to get home to make chocolate. Finally, I joined a table with these cute little Christmas logs. I painted a Christmas tree on my cute little log. I didn’t join the table where the girls were making body scrubs. I wasn’t in the mood to get dirty. After visiting all the FUN tables, I have a chance to enjoy some delicious treats. “Christmas Crafting” with the Girl Scouts was so much fun!

Physical and Chemical Changes

Matter is changed physically or chemically. A physical change occurs when matter changes its appearance but not its identity. A physical change includes a change in the state of matter, size, or shape. When making Oobleck, a physical change occurs by adding water and food coloring to cornstarch. The substance is still cornstarch only the state of the cornstarch changed. However, Oobleck is a substance that acts like a liquid and a solid so it is a non-Newtonian substance.

chemical change occurs when the chemical composition of one or more substances changes into a new substance. A chemical change can be identified by the formation of precipitation, formation of gases and bubbles, temperature changes, odor change, or color change.  Elephant toothpaste is a chemical change because a new substance is formed when the yeast acts as a catalyst. The yeast reaction causes the oxygen in the hydrogen peroxide to break apart. This reaction produces lots of bubbles and a change in the temperature of the foamy substance we call Elephant toothpaste.

My First Girl Scouts Cookie Sale

Finally, I got my chance to experience my first Girl Scout cookie booth after weeks of selling Girl Scout cookies online and selling at local businesses. My first “Cookie Booth” was at Fayetteville’s JCPenney. I had a great time meeting so many wonderful “Cookie Clients” (customers). Most of all, the best part was selling out of Girl Scouts cookies. I plan on using my Rewards from my Girl Scout cookies sales to attend Summer Camp as well as helping my Troop 18029. There are 25 more days left to sell Girl Scout cookies. I will continue my journey until I reach my initial Girl Scout cookies goal of 1,000 boxes. It looks like Girl Scout cookie dealing is my
